The first official tests for the World Superbike 2011 were held at the 'Autodromo do Algarve' in Portugal last weekend. In addition to getting acquainted with his new machinery, Michel Fabrizio, the new rider in the Suzuki Alstare team for which Motul will still this year be a technical partner, had to face track conditions that were difficult to say the least.
In effect, although the Portuguese circuit is located in a geographical area supposed to be Europe's sunniest, its track conditions were really wintry for the teams present.
Team Suzuki Alstare's only rider engaged for the 2011 season ended seventh-fastest overall, an honourable result. With two last tests programmed before the beginning of the season, it's a sure bet that team Ducati Xerox' former rider will be ready for the first round of the 2011 season in Philip Island later in the month on 27 February.
