MOTUL Presents Leah Stunts Asia Tour 2013
Singapore, 11 September 2013. To celebrate the launch of Motul’s new MCO range, Leah Petersen – the top female sportbike free-style rider in the world – is set to wow the crowd as she visits Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam as part of her Asia tour.
Organised in collaboration with Motul, a strong supporter of stunt riding in America, Europe and Asia, this three-leg tour will take place over three weekends from 6-20 October 2013.
The tour kicks off in Singapore, where Leah’s performance will be part of a bigger Motul Bike Festival. This festival celebrates all things motorcycles, and includes an exciting moto gymkhana and best in show competition.
Leah next travels to Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia and is set to perform in front of one of her biggest stages ever – during the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix weekend. A dedicated stunt yard will be set aside for Leah, where over 70,000 spectators will be treated to a mix of balance, agility and daredevil antics on two wheels.
Last but not least, the final leg will be hosted in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The Motul Stunt Fest 2013 is expected to attract more than 8,000 visitors over the weekend, and apart from the widely anticipated stunt show, there will be various other activities such as drift demos, stunt competition and a Motul graffiti contest.
To ensure that fans will be treated to an unforgettable performance, Leah and Motul have arranged to ship her personal Kawasaki ZX-6R to Asia. Although competitive stunt bikes do not rely as heavily on technology as compared to track-ready superbikes, lubricants still play an important part. The nature of the sport sees the clutch, brakes and engine go through constant abuse. For this, Motul’s range of MCO products and technical expertise help by ensuring Leah’s bike stands up to the abuse, allowing her to fully concentrate on her performance.
Commenting on the tour, Mr. Gregoire Zaugg, Sales and Marketing Director of Motul Asia Pacific, said: “We are extremely pleased to have Leah perform in Asia for the first time. There is a huge community of motorcyclists in this region, and I’m sure they will enjoy what Motul has specially prepared for them. Motul has always been actively involved in motorsports and this cross-continent project further strengthens our commitment to it.”
With less than a month to go, preparations for the tour are currently in full swing. "Performing in Asia has been a dream of mine for years and now it’s coming true thanks to Motul. I look forward to meeting new stunt fans and sharing my passion – come see the show and say hello in October,” said Leah.
