After Jean-Philippe Dayraut's title on the snow covered tracks of the French Andros Trophy, Canadian rider Jeff Thomson has given Motul a second title in 2011 in this winter sport.
The last round of the Great Northern Snocross Series took place at the end of February in Eagle River (east coast of Canada). The events of this championship reserved for racing sleds take place on ice tracks carefully planned to combine a show for the spectators and a technical challenge for the riders, similar to a motocross track. The leaps by these 450 kilo, 120 hp machines are in particular very impressive.
In front of a large crowd as usual (25,000 people were present for the inaugural round!) which was highly involved (the team proposed first-time rides on the track for the most courageous...), Jeff Thomson completed a very steady season on his 600 cc IQ scooter (Polaris base), which allowed him to secure the title despite a painful last race (accident on landing after a leap).
