The 24 hours of Le Mans are a mind-boggling race. There is no real way to wrap your head around it how much it actually takes to get this race up and running... To give you a better idea of how massive the event really is, we’d though we share the following numbers with you, delivered by our proud partners Gibson Technology and the ACO.

A massive crowd of spectators, a quarter million people!

  • 61 cars took the start, 183 drivers took turns at the wheel 
  • 252,500 spectators attended the event
  • 10,486 laps were completed which makes a total of 142,900 kilometers
  • 916 pitstops were executed

3 times around the world in 24 hours!

  • There were 18,309 passes, 853 to move up a place
  • 3:17.197 is the new record for the fastest lap in the race, set by Mike Conway in the #07 Toyota TS050 Hybrid
  • Gibson LMP2 engines covered 139,481 kilometers during the entire race week and the test day
3 times around the world in 24 hours!

A dazzling top speed of 350 km/h!

  • 73% of the race was ran at full throttle
  • 39% of the grid was powered by Gibson engines
  • The top speed of an LMP1 car was 350 km/h
  • The top speed of an LMP2 car was 337 km/h
