American Beta factory rider Cody Webb finished in a solid third place at this past weekend's XGames held in Los Angeles. The likeable Californian recently broke his foot in a practice crash and had only been on his Beta for a couple of days before the event.
Webb explains his race, "It was such a good feeling to come back to racing and end the night on such a positive note. I felt like I did all the proper training I could while being injured to come back strong. The XGames track was not my preferred course and I was wishing for a more technical track with less jumps, which I knew would be hard on my broken foot. I dealt with the pain the best I could and gave it my all. I was ecstatic to get the bronze medal after what I had come through and the high speed style of the track. My Beta 300 RR performed flawlessly and this was a great way to come back into racing and training at 100% again. Can't wait for the TKO and to make the final trials national now later this month."
Webb will return to MotoTrial action as well at the last two Championship rounds held in Duluth, MN on August 24th and 25th on his Beta Evo 300.
Beta team manager Alan Stillwell was equally pleased with Webb's performance, "I am really happy with Cody's ride today. Considering his recent foot injury he turned in a stellar performance. Cody rode smart, steady and his 300 RR worked fantastic. I am really looking forward to our next race, we are ready to race for the win!"
Webb's teammate Max Gerston failed to qualify for the main event. The Arizona racer was disappointed however is looking for redemption at the next Endurocross round in Ontario, Ca. on September 21st.
