The St Mary’s trophy is one of the big three at races at Goodwood right on par with the Kinrara Trophy and the RAC TT Celebration. St-Mary’s, however, is definitely the most exciting one of the lots. The door to door action between big V8-powered cars and small, but nimble touring cars are a real treat to watch.
The St Mary’s trophy is also one of the races you’ll meet many big names behind the wheel and this year was no exception. The cars on the grid were driven by the likes of Tom Kristensen, Emanuelle Pirro, Romain Dumas, André Lotterer, Karl Wendlinger and even Red Bull F1 chief Christian Horner set foot at the other side of the pit lane again. The voices throughout the staging area all agreed this was some of the best fun they’ll all experienced behind a wheel. And you can definitely tell.
