Motul supported GWM factory teams sweep all three T2 Production Class titles in one of Asia's toughest rally raids

Singapore, 4 June 2026 – Following a dominant performance at the 2026 Taklimakan Rally, Motul proudly celebrates Great Wall Motor (GWM) on securing a historic Grand Slam - sweeping all three T2 Production Class championships and locking down the top five overall positions in one of Asia’s most demanding off-road endurance events.

As the Official Lubricant Partner of the GWM, Motul played a critical technical role throughout the rally, providing a high-performance range of engine oil, transmission fluids and brake fluid, engineered to withstand the extreme temperatures, relentless terrain and intense mechanical demands of desert competition. Motul's flagship racing lubricants, engineered with proprietary Ester Core® technology proved their capability under those conditions, delivering maximum thermal stability, ultimate wear protection, and continuous reliability under extreme mechanical stress.

Building on their recent partnership announced earlier last month, the championship-winning result marks a significant milestone for Motul and GWM, demonstrating the strength of collaboration between advanced vehicle engineering and proven lubricant technology under some of the harshest operating conditions.

Carlo Savoca, Chief Marketing Officer of Motul Asia Pacific, said: “We are proud to celebrate this milestone alongside GWM. Winning across all three T2 Production Class categories is an extraordinary accomplishment and a testament to what can be achieved through engineering excellence, teamwork and perseverance. Motorsport is at the heart of Motul’s DNA, and every challenge we encounter on the track inspires us to make our products even better. From engine oils to transmission and brake fluids, we continuously refine our technologies to deliver the performance, reliability and protection that champions demand. The Taklimakan Rally is exactly the kind of environment where innovation is put to the test, and we are honoured to have been part of GWM’s success.”

Yu Yunlong, Motorsport Director of Great Wall Motors, said: “For an extremely tough race event like the Taklimakan Rally, choosing the right technical partner is crucial. With its world-class motorsport heritage and unparalleled lubrication technology, Motul naturally became the ideal choice for our high-performance needs. The technical support and products provided by Motul have given our race vehicles a clear competitive advantage, ensuring maximum reliability at critical moments. We look forward to a successful event and building a strong, lasting partnership.”
