DTM champions rely on Motul: Manthey wins the third title in four years
Cologne, October 2026 — Thomas Preining is the new DTM champion. The 28-year-old Manthey driver took third place at Hockenheimring last Sunday and secured the overall victory in the top German touring car series. His teammate Ricardo Feller achieved second place and finished the season in ninth place in the standings. Both drivers made a decisive contribution to the success of the third team championship. Motul supports Manthey as a lubricant development partner and contributes to the consistently strong performance of the two Porsche 911 GT3 R.
For Motul, the 2026 title represents a fourth consecutive DTM drivers’ championship and a third shared success with Manthey following victories in 2023, when Thomas Preining also claimed the crown, and 2025. In 2024, another Motul motorsport partner, SSR Performance Racing, captured the overall DTM title. In addition, Manthey secured the DTM teams’ championship in 2026 with 330 points, marking its third team title in four years. This new double victory speaks for the successful collaboration between Manthey and his partners.

Motorsport as a development laboratory
Dmitry Bakumenko, Managing Director of MOTUL Germany, explains: “We would like to warmly congratulate our partner Manthey on defending their DTM title. We are delighted that we were able to contribute to this success. Motorsport is part of our DNA and at the same time an important part of our development work. Especially long-distance and high-performance applications show how resilient our products really are. The findings and experience gained on the racetrack are also incorporated into the development of the formulations designed for everyday road use.”
Nicolas Raeder, Managing Director Manthey Racing GmbH, adds: “In GT3 racing, many areas and components are clearly regulated. It is therefore important to be able to rely on partners with the highest level of technical expertise for the parameters, which can be freely selected. This also applies to engine oil. It is an essential factor in ensuring maximum reliability and performance under all conditions.”
