Motul Launches Improved Engine Oils For Your Classic Car

With over 165 years of heritage in lubrication technology and experience in racing, Motul is happy to offer an expansive line of formulas made for classic vehicles. Older vehicles require specific additives and blends in their lubricants to handle the specific gaskets, metals, and engine tolerances to keep high-mileage cars running strong. Motul Classic takes the latest in lubrication technology, developed through our connections in motorsports, and combines it with the base oils and additives proven to protect your older powertrain. With our newest Modern Classic products for the 1980s and 1990s, Motul becomes the first brand to offer high-zinc (ZDDP) protection and moly boosted performance for this growing market.

A leader in lubricants since 1895, Motul is very familiar with supporting historical vehicles with recent partnerships with events like La Carerra PanamericaLe Mans ClassicGoodwood Revival, and support of legendary teams like the Bastos BMW rally team.

Lubricant specifically designed for small and large displacement engines with specific cam and timing systems that require high ZDDP i.e. flat tappet, high lift cams. This includes high-performance classic vehicles running higher engine tolerances, can also be used as a break-in oil. Premium mineral multigrade lubricant with middle detergent level, compatible with elastomer gaskets common in cars of this era. The Motul Classic 20W50 oil meets or exceeds standards while benefiting from a new formula that includes an advanced technology additive package with very high levels of zinc (ZDDP) protection along with moly to boost performance.

Semi-synthetic multigrade engine oil specially designed for some of the most iconic modern classic vehicles from the 1980s. In a period marked by reduced engine sizes and forced induction, Motul's "Eighties" formula is developed to handle vehicles equipped with higher compression naturally aspirated, supercharged, and turbocharged engines. Formulated with a unique combination of high-zinc (ZDDP) and Molybdenum additives to provide the best anti-wear protection and performance for your classic engine (genuine or rebuilt). Its unique additives also bring excellent long-term storage protection to protect your classic even when it's not out on the road.

An updated version of the Motul's legendary 2100 oil from 1966, the first semi-synthetic lubricant in the automotive market. Developed for naturally aspirated and turbocharged original engines built after 1970. Semi-synthetic lubricant, formulated with modern technology and detergent levels. 2100 15W50 meets or exceeds API standards of the period (API SH/ CF) and offers a better cold viscosity to reduce wear during engine start. Lubricant reinforced with a synthetic base (oxidation stability) allowing stay-in-grade viscosity for a continuous engine oil pressure. This oil also received an upgrade in ZDDP quantity for added protection of common technical challenges like flat tappet cams from cars of this era.
