Simply a perfect match for this event

Explaining why The Classic partnered with Motul, Giles Brown, the event’s Commercial Director, said: “Motul has a racing pedigree that goes beyond pre-war. It also offers specific classic oils and tops its benefits off with a full car care product range. Motul’s brand values, brand image and love for motorsports are simply a perfect match for our event. And not only our event benefits from Motul’s grassroots. The partnership also benefits the drivers and visitors who are all car lovers. Motul’s technical specialists will be in place during the event to support the racers, including the possibility to have an oil analysis lab in place. The partnership works both ways, there will be over 100 car clubs and communities present, which is the perfect audience for Motul’s classic oil range.”

Motul oil analysis

Motul is the proud lubricant partner of The Classic at Silverstone and one our key activities over the weekend is to give competitors and car club members the chance to have their cars’ mechanicals checked out through Motul’s Oil Analysis Service. Through this analysis, you can discover contaminants and metal elements present in the lubricant in order to detect premature or accelerated engine or gearbox wear and find out if it’s necessary to replace any parts. It also allows people to analyse the composition of the lubricant in use to highlight any coolant leaks or fuel dilution that may damage the engine and limit its performance. The service will be carried out on-site at The Classic by Motul technicians at Motul’s Mobile Racing Lab. This state-of-the-art mobile laboratory is capable of analysing the lubricants running in engines and gearboxes and is the very same facility that carries out oil analysis throughout the gruelling Dakar Rally.
