Having become the official partner of the GT Asia Series at the beginning of 2015, Motul decided to increase its presence in the championship by creating the Pole Position Challenge. The quest for pure performance will be rewarded by a special trophy for the driver having bagged most pole positions during the season.
'Though only in its first year, the partnership between GT Asia and Motul has been strong, and the new challenge cements the bond that both brands share,' stated David Sonenscher, Joint Series Director.
Lim Kee Cheong, Director of Sales and Marketing of High-Tech Lubricants AP Pte Ltd, the distributor of Motul products in Asia Pacific, also commented on the topic: 'Our 300V motorsport line is the most widely used product in racing; we would like to share the joy of being at the top of its class by conferring a special trophy to the fastest car on the grid.'
The GT Asia Series is the leading GT championship of the continent, with events in Thailand, China, Japan, Malaysia and South Korea and a prestige race outside the championship in the streets of Macao. Organised jointly by Motorsport Asia Ltd and the Supercar Club Hong Kong, it is officially recognised as an international series by the FIA (International Automobile Federation).
