A Motul TT in Assen would be nothing without a Motul Superfan!

The Motul TT in Assen is, without a doubt, one of the biggest events on the MotoGP Calendar. Tens of thousands of people flock to this ‘Dutch Cathedral of Speed’ to enjoy the spectacle. Obviously, a Motul TT in Assen would be nothing without a Motul Superfan. This year the honours went to Samuel El Nieto.

I applied a while ago, not really expecting anything, and then suddenly I got a message that I was going to be one of the finalists and I couldn’t have been more excited. I sent in a video telling everyone about my passion for Moto GP and Assen. I have a Suzuki motorbike that also runs Motul. I think I have exactly the kind of energy they were looking, so it’s a great match.

What does the TT circuit mean to you?

Apart from my daughter and girlfriend, it’s pretty much been my life. I’m a local, so if I want to, I can walk to the track. I grew up around here, and I’ve ridden it countless times. I couldn’t image life without it.

I think that’s got to be meeting Kevin Schwantz at the TT. He was my hero back then. In fact, I believe he was many people’s hero at the time.

How long have you been a MotoGP fan?

I got the bug from my father when I was very little and I don’t think I’ve missed many races since, whether watching on TV or visiting the track. Even my girlfriend is a big MotoGP fan and a huge Rossi fan too. It’s funny because my dad used to take me around the track, but now it’s pretty much the other way around.

What does it mean for you to be a Superfan?

For me it’s a dream come true. It completely changed my view of the riders and the event. It opened up so many doors and has given me so many opportunities. Motul really made me feel welcome. They made the whole thing an amazing experience from the start.

As a MotoGP fan you’re always so excited to meet your favourite rider and get a signature or a picture. When I got the opportunity of making a short movie with Tito Rabat, I got to meet him and talk to him, and in the end, you notice that actually they’re all just regular guys.

As a Motul Superfan, you’re an ambassador for the brand. What does Motul mean to you?

First of all, I’m a big fan of the product. It was recommended to me by my mechanic, but the brand had already been etched into my memory. Motul has meant so much to the sport for as long as I can remember. It’s an incredible honour for me to represent them here and to be part of this spectacle. For instance, I don’t have any Superfan activities scheduled today, but I still wanted to wear my Superfan shirt.
