Pirelli World Challenge GTS Points Leader Jack Baldwin Heads to Detroit, Locked and Loaded for Motown Madness on the Streets of Belle Isle
GTSport Racing drivers Jack Baldwin and Buz McCall will pilot the familiar #73 and #72 Motul/Stoptech/Foametix Porsche Cayman S cars to battle with top teams in the competitive Pirelli World Challenge GTS class for Rounds 6 & 7. Tomy Drissi returns to campaign the #46 ‘The Internship’ Porsche GT3.
"All the guys at GTSport/Goldcrest have been burning it up back at the shop to get our Caymans ready to rock this weekend," Baldwin said. "I love street racing and it doesn't get any better than Detroit - the fans here are the best!”
Baldwin had a clean sweep earlier in the season winning the double-header at St. Petersburg followed by three strong 3rd place podium finishes at Long Beach and the double-header at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas.
With 5 of the 14 Rounds completed, Baldwin leads the GTS driver championship going into Detroit with 579 total points.
McCall in the #72 Motul/StopTech/Foametix Porsche Cayman S has shown steady improvements race-to-race this year and will be looking for strong finishes this weekend in the motor city.
“I have many great memories with Jack from the Detroit Grand Prix and my Trans Am days,” stated McCall. “I’m definitely looking forward to re-living some of those positive memories over the weekend. We had some good progress at COTA and I’m focused on increasing gains on track at Belle Isle.”
Tomy Drissi will join GTSport Racing and Goldcrest Motorsports again driving ‘The Internship’ Porsche GT3. “I’ve done very well before at Belle Isle in the Trans Am series,” stated Drissi. ”I’ve always loved that place, but it is a street fight, not for the meek, and you better come with all barrels loaded! I’m really looking forward to it. I’d like to thank GTSport Racing and special thanks again to Charles and Rob Morgan and Tyler Tadevic for loaning me the car.”
