Sixth in the Indianapolis Grand Prix that took place at the end of August, the rider of team Rizla Suzuki MotoGP again confirmed his level of performance at the San Marino Grand Prix last weekend.
Eighth on the starting grid on his Suzuki GSV-R sporting a new silver grey, Alvaro Bautista indeed rode a restrained and incident-less race despite a few drops of rain. Eighth also under the chequered flag, the Spanish rider thus scored eight new important points in the overall standings.
Cal Crutchlow also chalked up a positive result, drawing on every drop of his energy to take tenth place in conditions of stifling heat and humidity. Still at Yamaha Tech3, there was a slight disappointment however for Colin Edwards. Suffering intense pain in his arms (compartment syndrome) half way through the race, Colin had to content himself with the 3 points of 13th place.
Next meeting at the Motorland circuit on 18 September for the 14th round of the season.
1// Casey Stoner – Honda – 259 pts
2// Jorge Lorenzo – Yamaha – 224 pts
3// Andrez Doviozioso – Honda – 185 pts
9// Colin Edwards – Yamaha – 87 pts - Motul
