The mid-season is past and the teams contending in the FIA GT1 World Championship participated in the sixth round of the season on 2 and 3 July at the Spanish circuit of Navarra.
The drivers were rather cool-headed (fewer collisions were counted in comparison with the previous rounds) during the qualifier and also during the Championship race, but that didn't mean they let each other off lightly on the track.
Of the three teams (six crews) supported technically by Motul, it was the duo Jamie Campbell-Walter / David Brabham (team Sumo Power GT) which did best by taking third step on the podium. Driven by Bernoldi / Catsburg, the sister car for its part came in 12th.
As for Team JR Motorsport, the crews Lucas Luhr / Michael Krumm and Peter Dumbreck / Richard Westbrook respectively took 6th and 9th places.
Last, regarding team Hexis Aston Martin Racing, Christian Hohenadel and Andrea Piccini showed regularity throughout the weekend and finally appeared in the top 5. Less success on the other hand for the crew of No.3. Although better qualified but having suffered from colliding in both races, Clivio Piccione / Stef Dusseldorp had to satisfy themselves with eighth under the chequered flag.
