MONSTER ENERGY TECH3 YAMAHA CELEBRATES THE MOTUL CORAZÓN FOUNDATION
On the occasion of the Grand Prix de France, both Monster Energy Tech3 Yamaha entries will be carrying the logo of the Motul Corazón Foundation. To celebrate the public launch of the charity, its aims and purposes, the team’s riders Cal Crutchlow and Bradley Smith came together with the Foundation’s Chair, Marine Jacquemin, on the eve of the French round of the 2013 MotoGP. The well-known international journalist, writer and human rights supporter will formally introduce the Foundation at a Gala evening to be held on Saturday evening at Le Mans in front of 500 Motul guests.
The charitable organisation was founded by Motul Group in 2012, under the aegis of the Fondation de France, to help underprivileged youths aged 10 to 18 in various fields worldwide. The idea of setting up recurrent actions in favour of youths was born in Latin America, the Foundation’s name pays tribute to its origins. 'Corazón' is the word for heart in Spanish, and the heart is a universal symbol expressing the Foundation's commitment and connection to fundamental human values like commitment and solidarity.
The Motul Corazón Foundation works by supporting local associations which have created original and solid solutions to help youths find their place in 21st century society. Healthcare, vocational training and self-confidence through sport, as well as vital access to new technologies, are Motul’s chosen avenues of support. Since its creation, the Foundation has instigated 9 projects in countries as varied as India, Hungary, Togo, Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Cambodia, Vietnam and Afghanistan to help disadvantaged youths. These projects include education and training, specialised medical surgeries and the creation and construction of toy and games libraries.
