Oddly similar weekends! One week after falling in race 1 of the Superbike sixth round in Misano on 12 June, Michel Fabrizio had to cope with the same incident again last weekend during the Motorland Aragon round in Spain.
The team Alstare Suzuki rider moved up to seventh by lap nine in race 1 and was pushing hard to be in the lead when he lost the front and fell. Said Michel Fabrizio, back in the pits: “I was pushing very hard trying to catch the leaders when I lost the front and went down. I hit my injured arm again but fortunately didn't do any further damage”.
More motivated than ever in race 2, the Italian rider managed to ignore his two recent falls and was up to fourth by lap five. He then soon started pressing Carlos Checa (Ducati) for third spot but finally had to settle for a solid fourth place.
1// Carlos Checa (Ducati) – 261 pts
2// Max Biaggi (Aprilia) – 218 pts
3// Marco Meldandri (Yamaha) – 195 pts
7// Michel Fabrizio (Suzuki) – 108 pts - Motul
