Encouraging starts for Colin Edwards and Cal Crutchlow!

The MotoGP 2011 contenders came last Sunday to the Losail international track, for the first round of the season.

Apart from being awaited by enthusiasts of this sport, the event was special in that it took place at night.

Of the two teams supported technically by Motul and taking part in this 2011 world championship, Team Yamaha Tech3 honourably completed this first 2011 round by pocketing a total of 13 points in the general standings. Colin Edwards indeed managed to climb to eighth position just behind a certain … Valentino Rossi! For his first MotoGP race, Cal Crutchlow, for his part, demonstrated he had all the required qualities to progress in this sport, by clinching eleventh place.

It was a morose weekend, on the other hand, for Team Rizla Suzuki which couldn't start the race due to Alvaro Bautista's fall during the third test session. He has suffered a fracture of the left thighbone and will be replaced by John Hopkins at the Jerez Grand Prix in April.
