Japanese Super GT - Autopolis

07.10.2011

Victory on all fronts for Motul

Suffering serious tyre problems since their win at the opening round, team Motul Autech had their heart set on doing well last weekend on the Autopolis circuit, the goal clearly being to get back on track to winning the championship. A particularly daring challenge but nevertheless realistic as the introduction of evolution in the engine and the end of the tyre problems at high temperatures meant that the Japanese team had every chance of obtaining a good result.

And they were right to be hopeful! During the race, despite a disappointing twelfth place on the starting grid because they had left the track a bit during the qualifying heats, Satoshi Motoyama and Benoît Tréluyer pulled off a perfect race, thus securing their second win of the season.

Sixteen, is now the tiny number of points separating the Nissan GT-R of team S Road MOLA driven by the duo Yanagida/Quintarelli and that of team Motul-Autech. So, at Motegi, on 15 and 16 October, the crown will be awarded after a quite singular duel... In any case,  Motul and Nismo are already assured of a title and also a double win in the GT500 category!

A Motul victory also in GT300 since team R&D Sport (Subaru Legacy) also won its second race of the season ahead of team JIMGAIMER's Ferrari 458.
