Suzuki racing: as ambitious as ever!

21.03.2019

With most of the 2019 championships already underway and as challenging as ever, it’s always nice to have a quick review of what happened last year to put this year’s events into perspective.

Suzuki racing: as ambitious as ever!

a stunning nine wins out of twenty races

This year, Suzuki is as ambitious as ever on all fronts and looking to do even better than last year. In 2018, both MotoGP’s GSX-RR as well as the GSX-R1000 super bike did well on tracks around the world, with the R1000 clearly showing its RR DNA.

The biggest successes came in the United States, where Toni Elias started the season with a double victory and went on to achieve a stunning nine wins out of twenty races, and narrowly missing out the top step of the championship.

A stellar performance

In the UK, the biggest surprise came from Bradly Ray who rode his GSX-R1000 to a double victory in the first rounds of the season. An incredible performance, especially when you consider that 2018 is Ray’s second season competing at this level. His stellar performance earned him a seat for the Suzuka 8 hours with Yoshimura Suzuki Motul racing. The team put up a fierce fight at the front in the opening stages of the race.

Suzuki also demonstrated its force on the dirt with Suzuki riders taking multiple wins in the AMA Supercross championship.
