Second consecutive title for Josh Waters, while Brodie Waters finishes 3rd in Supersport

20.09.2012

The last round of the Australian Superbike Championship, at the Queensland circuit on 16 September, allowed Joshua Waters to win a second consecutive title. The young 25 year old rider, part of  Team Suzuki supported technically by Motul, chose to secure a result allowing him to keep his championship lead, without risking a fall by taking too many risks. He thus finished 4th and 6th in the two races, a result allowing him to clinch the supreme crown. 'I sincerely thank the team in getting this result',  announced Waters. 'It's the fourth year I'm riding the GSX-R1000 and I therefore feel very much at ease on this machine.'

In Supersport, the result was more frustrating for Brodie Waters, who climbed the third step of the championship podium, a tiny point from the second. In Queensland, after securing the best times in the trials, a technical problem prevented him from entering the first race but he made up for that in the second by bagging 2nd place.

Motul also supported the Racesafe Medical Team, which sets up for each race a first-aid unit in a lorry providing immediate medical assistance should riders be injured. Motul can already announce it will be pursuing its partnership with this championship for the 2013 season.
