Leading Edge clinches a splendid double win, with the two MX1 and MX2 titles!

11.09.2012

The season has ended splendidly for the Motul teams which have  bagged the two Canadian national titles, in MX1 and MX2!

Motul supported Leading Edge, which entered Matt Goerke and Tyler Villopoto in MX1 and Teddy Meier in MX2. Crowned champion already at the previous event, at Sand Del Lee, Goerke nevertheless achieved at Waton his seventh win of the season!  'It's  a fine revenge over last year,' he said, 'when my wrist injury greatly hindered me.' His team-mate Villopoto clinched, in his first season, a brilliant fifth place. In MX2, Maier launched into the last event with a lead of 19 points and was expected to keep this advantage. He did even better, clinching victory! Full marks for Leading Edge, whose thrilled manager, Jason Hugues, commented: 'When we entered MX1, I knew we had to aim for the title, but I'm very pleased we clinched it so fast!'

The other team supported by Motul was OTSFF, whose MX1 rider, Bobby Kiniriy, took second place in the championship after a highly consistent season where he finished in the first three every time. In MX2, Richard Grey participated in his first full season, which he completed in ninth place.

Pending the next season, Leading Edge is going to participate in the Montreal Supercross, on 29 September, when Goerke will try to repeat his 2011 win.
