Disappointing GT1 race for Hexis Racing but the Blancpain Endurance Series see the Motul teams in the forefront

28.09.2012

The weekend had started well for Hexis Racing. At the penultimate round of the GT1 Championship, on 22 and 23 September at the Nürburgring circuit, Philippe Dumas' team secured the two best times in the free practice. But the weekend results were not on a par with this performance. In the qualifying, Stef Dusseldorp's car retired  following a front axle problem and Alvaro Parente and Greg Demoustier's car took over 5th place. At the start of the Sunday race, Greg Dumoustier was caught in a collision before even having made a single lap, while Dusseldorp and Makowiecki's car retired following an electronic problem.

In order to form a very fine field, the teams contending in the GT3 European Championship completed the starting grid of the FIA GT1 races. This way the Audi R8 LMS of Jérôme Demay and Dino Lunardi, driving for team Sainteloc supported technically by Motul, clinched a fine 5th place.

In the Blancpain Endurances Series, which also took place on this circuit during the weekend of 22-23 September, the Motul supported teams did well, beginning with the Kessel Racing Ferrari driven by world motorcycle champion Valentino Rossi, partnered with Alessio Salucci and Andrea Ceccato. They came 9th in Pro-Am but, in this same category, the best result of the Motul teams was achieved by the Porsche Pro GT by Almeras of Henry Hassid and Anthony Beltoise, who climbed the second step of the podium. Just behind,   Grégoire Demoustier and Duncan Tappy clinched 3rd place, for team ART GP.

For the World GT1 Championship, the last event is scheduled for 29 and 30 September at Donington Park while the contenders in the  Blancpain Endurance Series will meet again in Navarra on 13 and 14 October.
