Tech3's riders fall in the rain, but Motul greets enthusiasts

26.10.2012

The Malaysian Grand Prix, on 21 October, was seriously disrupted by heavy rainfall. After securing excellent times in the trials — Dovizioso starting on the front row for the tenth time of the season — the two Yamaha Tech3 riders both suffered a fall during the race.  While 4th and pursuing Casey Stoner, the Italian rider fell in the tenth lap, but remounted to rejoin the action in 14th position. Cal Crutchlow fell just after and, in the thirteenth lap, the race was interrupted owing to monsoon conditions. After some hesitation, the  race managers decided not to start the race again. Although the event was shortened, the riders were awarded full World Championship points.

Meanwhile, Motul did not waste its weekend, seizing the opportunity to organise a major communication operation with various activities. First, 120 clients from the Asia-Pacific region (Vietnam, Australia, Philippines, Myanmar, China, Singapore and Malaysia) were invited to the Grand Prix and greeted in Motul's area. A large booth was set up there to greet enthusiasts who could be photographed with the paddock girls and immediately publish their photo on Facebook. They also had the possibility of testing their capacity as a rider using a PS3 MotoGP game. Last, Motul distributed Tech3 posters and Motul stickers: all the stock was handed out before the end of the morning of the final, which proves the fervour of the enthusiasts present!

For the penultimate event of the season, on 28 October, riders and teams remain in the region, in Australia, meeting at the Phillip Island circuit.
