Motul looks forward to a feast of Endurance racing at the 24H of Dubai 2012

11.01.2012

International lubricant specialist, Motul, will return to the 24 Hours of Dubai as official lubricant partner for the second consecutive year.  Ever growing in international prominence and stature, the year’s first major motor sport endurance event will run from 14:00 on Friday, January 13th until the same hour on Saturday, January 14th.  As well as being seen on the side of each entry, the Motul name will also be featured on trackside banners and on the podium backdrop.

Successfully involved in all categories of motorsport around the world – more than 50 titles were clinched in 2011 using the company’s extensive and motorsport-specific range of products – Motul will be providing technical support to several teams.

These include the current FIA GT1 World Championship title-holding JRM Nissan team, the RJN Motorsport team which has entered two GT3 Nissan 370Z cars and will include current GT1 World Champion Michael Krumm amongst its driver line up, Marcos Racing which is managing one Lotus Evora and one BMW 120d entry, and the two-car GC Automobile Team which will be entering the GC10-V8.  With a start field of 75 cars and more than 35 different nationalities, Dubai will become a melting pot of cultures over the coming days.

Endurance racing is particularly valued at Motul as it represents a tremendous test-bench, often in the most demanding and challenging conditions, for its lubrication products. Motul has for several decades been a regular presence in this discipline and developed the specific “Le Mans” lubricant as part of its famous 300V range.  Its latest evolution of the 300V Le Mans will be the preferred motor oil used by the Motul supported teams, the same product as used by winning cars and teams at the most famous endurance race in the world, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Although a relatively new event, the 24 Hours of Dubai has grown considerably in stature over the past few years and the ultra-modern 5.39km Dubai Autodrome track has become a favourite of drivers.  It offers a combination of high-speed straights and technical corners which, combined with the size of the entry-list, makes it a challenging prospect for all competitors.  Moreover, for the first time in 2012 the event will be broadcasted live on Motors TV. Through its support of the IMSA Performance Matmut team, Motul triumphed in January 2010 and has confidence that the range and diversity of its supported teams will offer an equal opportunity for success in 2012.
