World FIM Moto GP - USA - Laguna Seca

29.07.2011

Colin Edwards, the mainstay

Last weekend the famous circuit of Laguna Seca in California saw the holding of the first of the two annual American MotoGP World  Championship events. The teams supported technically by Motul had their hearts set on doing their very best for this 10th round of the  championship and, of course, Texan Colin Edwards was as always  galvanised by his many supporters and also for Suzuki whose GSV-R seems back to business…

The test heats confirmed the realistic hopes of good results, with in particular a stubborn Alvaro Bautista, but the qualifying practice saw the three Motul riders fail to get past the brink of the top 10 (10th, 11th and 12th), the greatest satisfaction being ascribable to Cal Crutchlow, leader of this trio while also discovering the circuit and its famous Corkscrew.

There were two falls in the race since both the English rider of Team Yamaha Tech3 and the Spanish rider of the Suzuki no.19 fell before  mid race. It was the untiring and always as efficient Colin Edwards who made the most of his experience to get another Top 8!
