Jack Leconte, manager of Larbre Compétition, had spoken about it just before the 6 Hours of Zuhai 2011, the penultimate round of the ILMC championship: 'Our ties with GM Racing are continuing to be strengthened, with new joint projects in the offing."
This way, Larbre Compétition, which won the GTE-Am category at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and at the ILMC 2011 championship, is going to enter this year two Corvette C6.Rs instead of one last year. One of them will be entrusted to last year's winning team, composed of Patrick Bornhauser, Julien Canal and Gabriel Gardel, whereas the other will bring together Jean-Philippe Belloc, Christophe Bourret and Pascal Gibon, who finished second in GTE-Am at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2011 at the wheel of a Porsche 997 GT3 also entered by Larbre Compétition.
This second team has just discovered its new machine thanks to a tests session at the Val de Vienne circuit at Le Vigeant, home base of Larbre Compétition.
The two cars of the team from the Nièvre department are going to test their luck in the framework of the new World Endurance Championship which, under the aegis of the FIA and the ACO, will replace the ILMC. For several years, Motul has had the pleasure of supporting this team which has acquired an enviable and regular record list in GT. A few weeks remain to fine tune the car, before the 12 Hours of Sebring to be held on 17 March. Good luck!
