Andrew Short gets his bearings

Last weekend saw the holding of the first of seventeen rounds of the American AMA Supercross Championship. A genuine institution in North America, the races enjoy high media coverage like that of NBA or American football and take place in the most famous stadiums of the USA and Canada, in front of thousands of spectators – 60,000 in Anaheim (Los Angeles) last Saturday!

In this spectacular, very high level competition, Motul supports technically team L&Mc Racing, founded this year by 2 legends of this sport: Larry Brooks and Jeremy Mc Grath (7 times champion)!). Their rider, Andrew Short, injured in 2011, made his return to competition on this occasion.

Still in the learning phase as regards his Honda CRF450, the American rider created however a surprise during the race heats by taking the lead ahead of the heavyweights Dungey and Stewart! Although he finally gave in to the attacks of his pursuers, he nevertheless secured a fine 3rd place.

Qualified for the grand final on Saturday night, he managed to combine speed and level-headedness to cross the line in seventh place. A highly encouraging weekend therefore, and which could give Motul and the entire L&Mc Racing team some fine successes during the forthcoming months of a very intense season.
