Autosport Racing Car Show - GB - Birmingham

16.01.2012

Motul was there!

The Autosport Racing Car Show, one of the world's major motorsport shows was held from 12 to 15 January in Birmingham, England. With exhibitions, demonstrations on a covered track, and autograph signing by champions, Motul couldn't miss such an event and attended in style with a stand presenting two cars that participate in acceleration events : 'ZED 1' the dragster whose modified Nissan engine (over 1,800 hp) allows it to pass from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.2 seconds and also a monster Nissan GT-R tuned by RK Tuning for the 2012 season.

At this show, Motul also supported Racecar Euro Series, a particularly spectacular championship where identical cars compete, equipped with a tubular chassis and a 450 hp Chevrolet V8. In December last year, these powerful machines enjoyed their hour of glory at the Race of Champions, where big names like Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel or Jenson Button drove them. Highly American in style, this series that started in France is  progressing regularly and has just obtained the approval of NASCAR, the undisputed authority in stockcar racing. A fine acknowledgement for this championship which Motul has been accompanying since the outset in 2009.

Present on all fronts, Motul was also alongside JRM Motorsport which unveiled the brand new Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 developed with Motul's technical support. The team had moreover shared tasks, since it sent another GT3 to drive in Dubai the same weekend. Passion does not shrink back from anything!... Several teams have already demonstrated their interest for this car fitted with a 530 hp biturbo 3.8 litre V6, including Schulze Motorsport, in Germany, which is envisaging entering them in the ADAC GT Masters next year where they will compete with McLaren MP4-12Cs and Chevrolet Camaros for instance, which are already registered for the series. A fine show in view!
