SPECIFIC 913C - Improved compatibility with biodiesel fuel

31.05.2010

The new motor oil MOTUL Specific 913C 5W30 is now even more compatible with biodiesel fuel. It has been developed specially by MOTUL to meet the latest requirements issued by Ford for spark ignition and diesel engines.

Motor oil is more than ever one of the key design elements in modern combustion engine construction. This is why car manufacturers work together closely with the lubricant producers. At the moment, the well-known lubricant brand MOTUL has just launched the new product MOTUL Specific 913C 5W30 for vehicles made by the Ford Group. The product has been specially developed for the latest requirements made by Ford for spark ignition and diesel engines, and is even more compatible with the elevated biodiesel content in diesel fuel. The fully synthetic, low-ash mid SAPS motor oil with standard ACEA A5/B5 fulfils the new Ford requirement WSS M2C 913C. It also offers downward compatibility with the Ford requirements WSS M2C 913A and 913B.

The innovative lubricant is particularly recommended for vehicles where the manufacturers (Ford, Land Rover, Jaguar, Volvo) prescribe the use of a motoroil with reduced HTHS viscosity (High Temperature High Shear) with standards ACEA A1/B1 or A5/B5. Alexander Hornoff, Technical Director at MOTUL Deutschland GmbH: "The frequent regeneration cycles of the diesel particulate filter mean that a large share of unburned diesel fuel lands in the motor oil. Regular diesel fuel currently contains up to seven percent biodiesel (B7). Given the higher boiling point, this accumulates in the oil circuit with a sustainable impact on lubricating capability. The new formula for MOTUL 913C 5W30 achieves greater compatibility with biodiesel fuel together with higher soot absorption capability, thus safeguarding optimum protection for the engine throughout the service interval."
