The ninth round of the Malaysian Cubprix Championship was held at the superb Sepang circuit on 10 and 11 November.
The Motul brand is represented in this championship by team Motul Yamaha YY Pang Racing Team which entered Mohd Izzat Zaidi Salehan (no. 98), Tengku Amirul Haffiruddin (no. 18) and Nurahmad Fariznazreen (no. 28) in the WIRA category.
Particularly at ease on Saturday, the team shone in the qualifying trials since Mohd Izzat and Tengku Amirul were respectively assigned first and second place on the grid.
The race on the following day was held partly on a damp track and it was particularly eventful with many overtaking manoeuvres. This way, Mohd Izzat and Tengku Amirul managed to remain in the forefront and in the last lap they still occupied the first two places. Unfortunately, in the last turn, Mohd Izzat was surprised by two contenders. He finished the race in 4th place. A disappointment soon compensated by the satisfaction of seeing his team-mate Tengku Amirul climb the highest step of the podium!
All eyes will now be on the Penang final on 1 and 2 December.
