Ten days ago the 2012 final of the iFast Corporate Karting Challenge took place, a karting competition in the form of a 4 Hour teams endurance race.
To qualify for this final, the teams had to participate in one of the qualifying rounds organised on the Singapore Kartright Speedway and finish among the first six.
The qualifying challenge was therefore sizeable for team Motul - Carbuyer (one of Singapore's major car magazines) given the high level of the competition. In effect, this valorous team was special in that it was composed of magazine journalists and … one of their readers! Well, not any reader because Mark Lee provided serious help as he was chosen after the various candidates were assessed on the track and timed.
He was to be the surprise guest who thus became the lead driver of a team which did well in the qualifying a few weeks ago but suffered a few glitches in this final: the go-kart ran dry, lost a wheel... The team finally crossed the arrival line in a valorous 8th place.
Roll on 2013, with even sharper journalists!
