Motoworks steers clear of the traps and wins this very tough event

26.11.2012

After 1,800 km of tracks and 27 hours of a crazy race, the team composed of Josh Frederick, Jeremie Warnia, Collins Webster and Jarrod McClure crossed the arrival line of the Baja 1000 in the lead of its Pro-ATV category. Organised from 14 to 17 November by Score international, this 45th edition was just as difficult as the previous ones, representing a genuine sprint from the start from Ensenada to the arrival in La Paz. The result of team Motoworks / Can-Am, supported technically by Motul, is therefore particularly brilliant. At the wheel of its DS 450, the team took advantage of the tough terrain of the south of the Baja California peninsula to catch up with the leader. At nightfall, it took the lead and finished with a lead of two hours over the second. 'Winning the Baja 1000 is everyone's dream,' commented Johnny Leach, team owner. 'I'm proud to be part of the team which clinched this result.' For Josh Frederick, lead driver, it's a big success: 'I'm extremely proud for all our team. This has been an enormous amount of work, nobody failed to spare any efforts to reach the goal. The quad was superb. We had to change a few parts twisted at the beginning of the race, which delayed us by an hour. But we then followed our plan and it was a success!'

Thanks to this result, Frederick finishes in the lead of the Pro ATV category of the 2012 Score Championship, so next year he can carry the coveted number 1A.
