Hexis Racing finishes brilliantly!

25.11.2013

Winner of the event in 2012, team Hexis Racing took the decision a few weeks ago to participate in the last round of the FIA GT Series championship organised in Baku (Azerbaijan). This trip by the team held an overdose of emotion in store for us: the possibility of the team halting its activities imminently, a grandiose event in a distant country, a dream team... the magic of motorsports and city racing took charge of adding one more layer of emotion!  Having left 3rd on the starting grid of the main race, Rob Bell was in 22nd position when a chaotic collision made him pit with a flat. Then a bottleneck in the pitlane at the time of driver change-over cost the McLaren no. 27 precious seconds. Half an hour later, Kévin Estre crossed the arrival line in 2nd, 1’’3 from the winner, before finally ranking 3rd after incurring a 10 seconds penalty for having gone beyond the bounds of the track!

'This race is a true reflection of the adventure by our team', commented Philippe Dumas after the arrival. 'Madness, talent, sadness also occasionally and, above all, the fact that we proved once again that we'll never abandon. At the end of this weekend and after what we've experienced throughout these years of racing worldwide, today's result is not so important. I'm proud of all this adventure and for having trusted an incredible driver: Kévin Estre.'

Note should also be made of the participation of team TDS Racing (BMW Z4 GT3), also supported by Motul. The duo Hassid/Beltoise crossed the arrival line in 3rd of  Pro-AM category (10th overall)!
