24 Hours of Le Mans - Le Mans - France

07.03.2012

Seiji Ara confirmed as a driver of Pescarolo Team's Dome

As we told you three weeks ago, Pescarolo Team is going to enter at the 24 Hours of Le Mans a Dome S102.5 with a Judd engine, driven by Nicolas Minassian, Sébastien Bourdais and a Japanese driver who remained to be confirmed. Finally, it's Seiji Ara who has been chosen, a talented driver with several wins to his name, especially in endurance. Reliable and experienced, he has participated five times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, including three times for Audi Sport Japan Team Goh. Mention is to be made above all of his win in 2004 at the wheel of an Audi R8, alongside Rinaldo Capello and Tom Kristensen. He has also already driven a Dome at Le Mans, in 2005.

'For a prototype which has such an image in the French press and public, recalls Henri Pescarolo, a team of very good standing was needed. Dome absolutely wanted to include a Japanese driver, which is logical. It's an honour to welcome a winner at Le Mans in our team.'

To prepare well the race at La Mans, part of Dome's team travelled at end February to the Technoparc in Le Mans to share a few days of work with Pescarolo team's mechanics.

Seiji Ara's 2012 programme is already very full with the Super GT Championship, so he won't be able to participate in the 1000 km of Spa on 5 May 2012. For its first appearance, the Dome S102.5 will be in the hands of Sébastien Bourdais and Nicolas Minassian.
