Five champions at the start of the 2013 season

07.12.2012

On the occasion of Motorcycle Live, the nine day show that took place in Birmingham at end November and which attracted more than 100,000 visitors, Honda Motor Europe announced the new team that will defend in 2013 the colours of  team Honda TT Legends, partnered technically by Motul for the second consecutive year. The names of five talented riders were therefore disclosed: John McGuinness, 19 times winner of the Isle of Man TT; road-racing champion, Cameron Donald; and the young Simon Andrews. All three will participate in the World Endurance Championship. For the TT and NW 200, a team of three Superbike riders has been formed with, in addition to McGuinness, Michael Dunlop (three times winner of the TT) and Michael Rutter ( winner three times of the TT and 13  times of the NW 200). The latter will join the team to also be the fourth man of the Endurance Championship. These five champions will ride on the Honda CBR 1000 RR Fireblade.

Neil Tuxworth, team manager, is very pleased with this group. 'In both disciplines, we're in a much stronger position than last year,' he announced. ''Bringing Rutter into the Endurance Championship is very positive because he's very experienced. He's a rapid rider who is also reliable and he'll strengthen the team's solidity. (...) In road-racing, for the first time in a long while we have a team of three riders, (...) including Michael Dunlop, a young rider who already has three TT wins to his name and who we feel is the future of this discipline.' Good luck!
