DRIFTING ON ICE AT THE MOTUL ARCTIC CIRCLE EXPERIENCE

15.12.2022

Ice drifting, husky sledge rides, Nordic cuisine and spa hotels – welcome to the new Motul Arctic Circle Experience. Set over four days, the Motul Arctic Circle Experience offers participants the chance for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in the beautiful, snow-covered expanse of northern Sweden.

DRIFTING ON ICE AT THE MOTUL ARCTIC CIRCLE EXPERIENCE

The adventure of a lifetime

Motul has collaborated with experienced Arctic adventure trip organiser Triple X Adventures for the events. The first will be in February and the second in March and there are still spaces available.

Mark Grunert, head of marketing for Motul Germany, responsible for marketing in Central and Eastern Europe, says: “Motul sponsors many events and is really involved in the whole community and competitions, but it’s never been a provider of experiences, so this seemed like a logical next step.

“This is the first time we, as Motul Germany, will connect directly with our consumers and offer them something thrilling, special and fascinating and really show the value of Motul’s DNA.”

Ice driving

Thrilling certainly is the key word here. From powerful ice karts to RS-model Audis, attendees will get the chance to learn car control in a very fun, dynamic environment, with expert drivers on hand to teach you how to perfect your drifting. When you’ve had enough of skidding on ice, you will get the chance to explore the untamed Swedish landscape on a dog sled with experienced guides.

Away from the adventurous side of things, the weekend is all about relaxation. Indulge in exquisite Scandinavian cuisine and unwind in the luxury spa at the cosy and premium hotel nestled in the snowy landscape. Some of the foodie highlights include reindeer steak under the northern lights, roast moose in front of the campfire, lobster burgers in a traditional Swedish kota, the gathering place of the Sámi, the indigenous people of northern Scandinavia.

Caring about nature

Mark added: “As well as being a lot of fun, the driving element of the experience will allow you to test your limits and teach you how to react to unforeseen circumstances. And you will get the chance to drive a selection of vehicles that you wouldn’t get to experience very often.

“As the experience is set on a frozen lake, we don’t leave any trace. So, the experience is designed to be very respectful to nature. And we partnered with a local tour operator who are experts in this environment and these kinds of travel arrangements to guarantee a very authentic, rewarding experience that cares about nature.”

The experience will also demonstrate how Motul’s lubricants work in extreme environments, but in a fun, non-educational, or salesy way.

Access to unique experiences

These experiences also offer an exciting new venture for Motul. In the future, Mark believes the company could offer more of these types of exclusive access, especially as Motul is at the heart of the action in motorsport, for example, and can give people really memorable, fun experiences.

“Motul sponsors MotoGP, and we often get asked by customers if we can provide things such as laps in the safety car, or back-stage access at the paddock, and there’s a lot of demand for this exclusive access and these once-in-a-lifetime experiences,” says Mark. “So, we’re doing some field tests to see what the community actually wants and how we can deliver it.”

The Motul Arctic Circle Experience is fully inclusive, and the price includes full board, all snacks and drinks. With a maximum of 12 people on each experience, guests are guaranteed a very special and intimate adventure.
