In stark contrast to its four wheel counterpart, the world of two-wheel motorsport has always been less linked to glitz and glamour. Rider and fans purely focus on racing and anything else is a distraction. However, once a year the world of two-wheel motorsport dresses up for a special occasion: The FIM awards. In traditional closing event hosted by the FIM, the organization honors their champions. This year the event took us to probably one of the glitziest places of them all: Monaco.
The city which houses a race track in its very midst. For one night, the FIM champions ranging from MotoGP to Ice Speedway racing replace their padded racing leathers for a tuxedo and a bow tie. The change in attire is almost symbolic. The season has ended and so the racing attire is stowed away and the competitors have some time to relax and to meet each other.
For the second time the event was joined by a Motul Superfan. Stephanie Rowe was our Motul guest of honor and fully enjoyed the glamour the FIM Awards have to offer. For Stephanie, an offroad rally rider and instructor herself, it was the opportunity to meet some of her idols such as Emma Bristow, Toni Bou and of course Tim Gajser.
