Two Motul drivers on the top steps of the podium

15.05.2012

The Zhuhai circuit was the setting, on 3 June, for the third round of the China Touring Car Championship. As always on this occasion Motul provided its technical support to three teams: Beijing Hyundai, Haima and Chongqing CC. The race was not lacking in sudden new developments, beginning with the collision between the rapid Cui Yue, driving a Hyundai and Lin Lifeng, driving a Haima, which forced them to abandon. Half way through the race, rain started to fall, complicating matters all the more because the drivers had kept their tyres for dry conditions. The low adherence caused some to leave the track such as He Zixian, followed by Sun Zheng, the Hyundai driver and winner of the race on 29 April in Shanghai.

The positions were therefore completely changed, with Liu Yang in first place, but not for long: it wasn't long before Xie Xinzhe took the lead and kept it all the way to the arrival, managing to withstand the attacks by his contenders.
'Rain considerably hindered us', he admitted at the arrival. 'We had some fine skirmishes before it started raining and I'm pleased to have won this race, with my team.'
The next event of this championship is scheduled on 17 June in Chengdu.
