Honda New Zealand becomes a Motul Honda Cup partner

30.07.2012

The Motul Honda Cup, in which cars of the make compete, is one of New Zealand's most dynamic car championships. This dynamism will be boosted even more thanks to the new partnership signed with Honda New Zealand. In this framework, the OEM is going to provide a Honda CRZ as the pace-car and also, as of this summer, spare parts and advice to participants.

'The organisers are real enthusiasts of the make and of motorsport', commented Graeme Meyer, Honda New Zealand marketing manager. 'They've worked hard for their championship to develop. We're pleased to make our contribution to races of this quality.'

Meanwhile, Alan Stewart, championship director, is obviously thrilled. 'The acknowledgement and support we're receiving from  Honda New Zealand are extremely precious for us. We've created the biggest championship reserved for a Japanese make in New Zealand and, after a beginning of the summer crowned with success, we're developing a winter series in South Island.

Our goal for the Motul Honda Cup is to allow fiercely fought races which remain accessible for the participants, which would be impossible if the cars weren't good quality. Hondas are known for their sturdiness and performances, without forgetting the make's glorious motorsport past.'

Thanks to this partnership, the championship has moved up in the motorsport world, at a time when the third round of the season, on 4 and 5 August in Manfeild, is approaching.
