At mid-season, Jéremy Poret holds on to his crown

17.07.2012

On 7/8th July, for the first time, the Freegun Jetcross Tour travelled to Picardie, to a watersports centre near Soissons.  “I am really happy to have the Freegun Jetcross Tour on our site,” commented organiser Pascal Husson, “because more usually we organise karting or supermoto meetings.”  In spite of capricious weather, the Motul-supported event fulfilled all its promise.

In Ski Elite Jéremy Poret won all three rounds, confirming his status as 2011 World Champion. Brice Lopez, back to his best, snatched second place ahead of Vincent Villat who suffered a penalty after going the wrong side of the buoys.  In Acrobatic Jet, an exceptional line up of 15 freestyle riders gave a dazzling show of very varied tricks and a rainbow fountain. Winners were Nicolas Denille in the Pro category and the British veteran Darren Ogden in the Amateurs.

Riders fought elbow to elbow at each buoy in Ski Promotion, and it was Jéremy Rathouin who won the combination of three rounds ahead of Anthony Torelli, outstanding leader of this series. Philippe Dufaud dominated three races in Veteran Ski Sport while, in Sport Open, Thomas Clement remained matchless, clinching victory in the three races with several minutes to spare. Belgian Antoine Goethals emerged as the best in Junior Ski in front of Matteo Finidori, winner at Porto Vecchio but who, here, had a false start and then a fall in the third leg. In Amateur Ski it was veteran Thierry Coutier who was the steadiest at the head of a well-stocked grid of 32 riders including three female participants.  The Ski Feminine category was won by Estelle Poret.
