With still one round to spare, Reece Bancell Scholarship/Yamaha rider Mike Jones has claimed the 2011 ASBK Superstock crown!
Undefeated in the series ‘Mad Mike’ took charge of Round 4 at Queensland Raceway in much the same way as the previous rounds: with a pole position start and 3 convincing race wins. Mike also set a new lap record of 1 minute 13.537 seconds. With his eyes on the prize Mike strode home by over 8 seconds in races 1 & 2, the only threat coming in race 3 from a determined Daniel Falzon who squeezed the gap down to 0.469 seconds.
Mike said, “2011 has been a great year for me. I had a goal to win this championship but never did I expect to win it before the final round and to win every race along the way. It has been fantastic to race this year because of the people and the support I have behind me. All of my sponsors have been a vital part of my success this year and I cannot thank them enough”
