FIA GT World Championship – France - Lédenon

Conclusive tests for Hexis Racing's McLaren

As we told you two weeks ago, Hexis Racing is entering the realm of more powerful vehicles by entering two McLarens in the GT1 World Championship. On 6 and 7 February, the team braved the cold weather to carry out a series of tests at the Lédenon circuit, a site it knows well since its workshops are based there. Two drivers took in turn the steering wheel of the first MP4-12C GT3 delivered, Dutchman Stef Dusseldorp and Frenchman Frédéric Makowiecki — 'The world's best GT driver of the time' says Philippe Dumas, manager of team Hexis. 'I've been very pleased to work with them again and to be with Fred once more in a world programme'.

What about the car? 'It is in the development phase but is very well balanced and sound, easy to drive', continues Philippe Dumas. 'It's been tuned a bit too soft, to our mind, for such a demanding and competitive championship as the FIA GT1 but we're going to settle that fast.' Hexis is helped in this preparation by team McLaren, present on the spot and with which it gets on well. 'We have very good relations with them, I'm very pleased about that,' concludes Philippe Dumas.

Another tests session is scheduled on 20 and 21 February, bearing in mind that the second McLaren must be delivered at the end of the month. There is still a bit of time to take advantage of this preparation period, which is always exciting with a new car, before the first Championship event on 8 April at Nogaro.
