FIA GT World Championship – France - Lédenon

01.02.2012

Hexis enters a new era!

At the end of November, three weeks after winning the FIA GT1 World Championship, team Hexis was the first to announce its participation in the 2012 edition, with two new McLaren MP4-12C GT3s. Today, it is still ahead of its competitors in unveiling its two duos. Frédéric Makowiecki, Stef Dusseldorp, Alvaro Parente and Grégoire Demoustier form a foursome characterised by sound balance: two confirmed members from the Hexis 'family' will be  alongside two new arrivals. Similarly, two of the drivers will have a well established international reputation while the other two are more than promising go-getters. In the same vein, two of the drivers in the French team are French. The decoration of the cars has been validated and tests will begin next week at the Lédenon circuit.

Team Hexis' history began in Formula Renault just ten years ago.  The second decisive stage was the acquisition of a Porsche Cup, which allowed the team managed by Philippe Dumas to become hardened against the subtleties of Grand Touring events. Then Hexis gained its international dimension by giving Aston Martin Racing many successes in GT3 category championships in France, Germany and Europe, before the crowning achievement at the FIA GT1 World Championship. The arrival of two McLarens in the team's workshops therefore corresponds to a new era, at a time when the championship is also adapting to a major change. The adoption of GT3 technical regulations indeed implies a complete renewal of the field. Hexis already knows three of its rivals, which will represent  Audi, BMW and Mercedes-AMG.

The FIA GT1 World Championship will begin on 8 April at the Nogaro circuit in the Gers department of France where the first cars bearing Hexis' colours raced for the first time during the same Easter weekend in 2002!
