The Goodwood Revival simply is a magical place to be. There is not a single other event on earth that actually gives you the feeling you are living in the past, let alone as if you are racing in these days. Apart from the occasional smartphone that pops up and with the help of a little suspension of disbelief one might actually think he’s back in the golden era of motor racing.
The Revival is all about this golden age of racing. The second world war just ended. Young men, former soldiers, were looking for a way to get their adrenaline rush. There happened to be a surplus of engines and vehicles laying around and the UK was littered with decommissioned airfields that only made sense during war time. Car and motor racing were an obvious choice, with the Goodwood premises being right in the middle of it.
The Goodwood Revival takes you back to the past, on track as well as off track, while the engines are humming, and the girls are dancing.
