FIA WEC – Mexico 6 Hours

07.09.2017

VALOUR REWARDED

The FIA World Endurance Championship is passionately supported by Motul which is proud to be the official lubricant partner. The famous red and white logo could be clearly seen on the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, thus named in honour of the former drivers and idols of the local public, Pedro and Ricardo Rodriguez. Motul's colours were indeed painted all over the asphalt strips beyond the rumble strips on each side of the circuit in the most spectacular stadium area. On 3 September, Mexico hosted a splendid race in LMP2 which finished with the win of team Vaillante Rebellion, partnered technically by Motul!

At least four teams were contending right to the end for the win in in this category where they were separated by only 35 seconds at the arrival. The Oreca Vaillante Rebellion #31 soon pushed forward to the lead in the hands of Bruno Senna. Frenchies Nicolas Prost and Julien Canal kept this position of leader before the return of their Brazlian team-mate to the cockpit for the end of the race. Despite spinning out 54 minutes before the end, Bruno Senna and the Swiss team had the last word! 'This first win after finishing 2nd three times allows us to return to the fight for the championship' commented Julien Canal.

Clearwater Racing, Motul's other technical partner at the highest level of car endurance, reached the arrival fifth-placed in LMGTE Am. The Singaporean team comes second-placed in its category in the provisional world standings.
