Suzuki unveils its 2015 team

Since its withdrawal from the MotoGP in 2012, Suzuki has been unflaggingly developing a new racing machine, the GSX-RR, with a view to a return. The Japanese manufacturer is now ready, announcing the fact at a press conference at the Intermot fair on 30 September.

This participation will in particular serve as a test-bench for it to develop even more attractive products for its clients. The Grand Prix machine has received a new four-stroke in-line four-cylinder engine developing 230 hp and an also entirely brand new frame designed for maximum agility and aerodynamics, while assuring optimal weight spreading. Team Suzuki MotoGP will be led by Davide Brivio and has also unveiled the name of its two riders: Aleix Espargaro, currently racing in  MotoGP (Forward Racing) and one of its star attractions; and Maverick Viñales, who contended in Moto2 in 2014. According to Davide Brivio, the level reached is good, but 'the electronics still have to be worked on. It's a field that has become very sophisticated in MotoGP and, as we haven't participated in recent years, we have some catching up to do. We're also working on the engine performances.'  

Before finding the two Spanish riders back on the GSX-RR at the winter 2015 trials, fans of the Japanese manufacturer will be able to discover the machine at a race already in November thanks to a wild card at the closing round in Valencia. Randy de Puniet, team development rider, will have the challenge of making the brand new GSX-RR shine in its maiden outing!
