New world record for GAS Motorsport !

28.09.2012

The Brisbane Jamboree is the best that can be found in the  Compact Drag Racing field, in the southern hemisphere: on 22 and 23 September 12 categories competed on the Willowbank track, Australia, from All Motor to Factory Xtreme and Pro Turbo Bikes. This year, the Jamboree saw the return of the record holders in the Sport Compact and Factory Xtreme categories: GAS Motorsport, supported technically by Motul. The team managed to beat its own record twice in Sport Compact with an exceptional best time of 6.265 seconds over 400 metres and a final speed of 230 mph (370.15 km/h), the new world record! For Gary Goodman, team manager, the mechanical constraints are such that the lubricant plays a very important role: the team's Toyota Celica is indeed propelled by a 3.4 litre engine running at 10,500 rpm and above all whose boost pressure reaches 5.52 bars, which produces a power of approximately 2,400 hp!

Motul provided its support to other teams, which also shone at the   Jamboree: Scott Porter Racing won the Factory Xtreme title, with a Nissan Infiniti fitted with a biturbo V6. The team holds moreover the best time for a Nissan engine car:  6.484 seconds and 216.10 mph (347.78 km/h). TOP RPM clinched the best time of the day in this category (6.50 seconds and 353.9 km/h) but suffered clutch problems preventing it from repeating this performance.
