FIA World Endurance Championship - Sebring – USA

16.03.2012

Kick-off of the new championship in Sebring

Next weekend marks an important step in present-day motorsport since it will see the kick-off of the new World Endurance Championship. Created by an historic agreement signed last year between the FIA and ACO, the championship will consist in eight events spread between North and South America, Europe, the Middle East and the Far East, and it will include the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Motul, which has had very close relations for many years with ACO, is of course involved in this new and enthralling adventure.

So, on 17 March, 63 teams will come together on the start line at  Sebring, Florida, for a 12 hours event. Split into four categories  — LMP1, LMP2, GTE Pro and GTE Am — they are going to contend on this bumpy and therefore difficult circuit in difficult heat conditions. Motul is one of the rare lubricant specialists to be involved in the four categories thanks to its technical support for   teams Pescarolo (LMP1), Greaves Motorsport (LMP2) and Larbre Compétition (LMGTE-Am). Since a short while, Motul has added to these partnerships two newcomers: Pecom Racing (LMP2) and Luxury Racing (LMGTE Pro).

Endurance remains in 2012 an essential sport in Motul's motorsport strategy.
