138 bikers are on the list of contenders in the 2016 Dakar Rally. Three of them will be wearing the colours of Team Sherco TVS Rally Factory, one of the factory teams with which Motul has signed a technical partnership agreement for the world's most gruelling off-road rally.
Two manufacturers have joined forces to form Team Sherco TVS Rally Factory. Created in 1998, French manufacturer Sherco specialises in Enduro, Supermoto and Trial motorcycles, while TVS Racing is the racing division of Indian group TVS Motor Company with an annual production of 3 million two-wheelers. Their joint work for the RTR 450 had already allowed the two riders contending in 2015 to reach the Dakar arrival.
Spaniard, Joan Pedrero Garcia, has participated in seven editions of the Dakar with two 5th places as his best results. 'I've trained a lot and feel in top shape! I've also worked well on the bike with which I entirely gel.'
6th in 2010, Frenchie Alain Duclos is the most experienced of the trio with 14 participations to his name. 'I feel serene but wonder how the event will turn out in the absence of the former winners. In any case I'm convinced I'll seize the opportunities...'
Last, the critical role of water carrier will be entrusted to another Frenchie, Florent Vayssade, who has not stopped amazing us since switching from kayaking to off-road biking.
